Privacy policy

Last updated: July 2, 2026Applies to tirefax.ai and the Tirefax apps
The short version
We collect what we need to track tires and run your account — not more.
We don't sell your data. Ever.
You can ask for a copy of your data, or ask us to delete it, anytime.

What we collect

Tirefax is a tool for businesses that handle used tires. Most of what we collect is about tires and shipments, not people. Here’s the full list:

Account details
Your name, work email, phone number, company name, and role — what you give us when you sign up.
Tire and shipment records
Tire photos, ID codes, scan times, pickup and drop-off locations, fees, and how each tire was recycled. This is the product doing its job.
Location while scanning
When you scan a tire or log a handoff, we record where that happened. We don't track your location in the background.
Device and usage basics
Device type, app version, and which features you use — so we can fix bugs and make the product better.

How we use it

We use your information to:

  • Run the tracking service — record handoffs, build tire passports, and generate your reports
  • Work out disposal fees and prepare the filings you owe in each state
  • Spot fraud — like the same tire being reported twice, or a load that never arrived
  • Support you when something goes wrong, and tell you about changes that affect you

We don’t use your data for advertising, and we don’t sell it to anyone.

Who we share it with

Tracking a tire only works if the people in the chain can see the record. So:

  • Others in your chain. The shop, hauler, and recycler on a shipment can each see that shipment’s record — who handled it and when. They don’t see your unrelated business data.
  • Regulators. When a filing is due, or a regulator audits a shipment, we share the records the law requires — that’s part of what you’re paying us for.
  • Service providers. Companies that host our servers, send our emails, and process payments — under contracts that limit what they can do with the data.
  • If the law demands it. We comply with valid legal requests, and we’ll tell you when we’re allowed to.

A note on custody records

Tirefax records are designed so history can’t be quietly rewritten — that’s the whole point of the product. When you log a handoff, that entry becomes a permanent part of the shipment’s record and the compliance filings built on it. We can delete your account and personal details, but handoff entries stay in the chain (with your personal details removed) so the record stays honest for everyone else in it.

How long we keep it

Account details: as long as your account is active, then deleted within 90 days of closing it. Tire and shipment records: as long as state regulations require us to keep them — usually three to seven years, depending on the state. Usage data: up to two years, then deleted or anonymized.

How we protect it

Your data is encrypted when it travels and when it’s stored. Access inside Tirefax is limited to people who need it to do their jobs, and every access is logged. If we ever have a breach that affects you, we’ll tell you promptly and plainly — what happened, what was exposed, and what we’re doing about it.

Your choices

You can always:

  • Ask for a copy of the data we hold about you
  • Correct anything that’s wrong
  • Close your account and ask us to delete your personal details
  • Opt out of marketing emails with one click

Email us at cto@tire.ai and we’ll handle it within 30 days. Depending on where you live (for example California or the EU), you may have additional rights under local law — we honor those too.

Cookies

We use a small number of cookies to keep you signed in and to understand how the site is used. No advertising trackers, no cross-site profiling. Your browser lets you block cookies if you prefer — sign-in just won’t stick.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy in a way that matters, we’ll email account holders and post the update here at least 14 days before it takes effect. The “last updated” date at the top always tells you the current version.
